The first meeting of the Northern Alliance Youth Advisory Group will be held virtually this month, on Thursday 11 November.

Young people from each of the eight local authorities which make up the Northern Alliance area – from Aberdeenshire, all the way up to Shetland and all the way over to Argyll and Bute – will be coming together to represent the voice of young people from their area.

The new group has been formed in response to feedback from the last two Northern Alliance Youth Conferences. Young people told us:

  • ‘All councils should have structures in place so young people’s voices, ideas and recommendations are listened to, and action taken.’
  • ‘We need spaces to meet and workers to support and facilitate bringing together young people as ‘one youth voice’ for the Northern Alliance area.’

The new Northern Alliance Youth Advisory Group will be supported by Community Learning and Development (CLD) partners from all eight local authorities, as well as Northern Alliance Youth Participation Leads.
