One of our wonderful Education Officers from Education Scotland’s Northern Team has highlighted a great resource developed in Dumfries & Galloway which is accessible to all practitioners across Scotland.

Learning for Sustainability is a cross-curricular approach which weaves together global citizenship, sustainable development education and outdoor learning to create coherent, rewarding and transformative learning experiences.  It’s an important component of Curriculum for Excellence, an entitlement for all learners and a core part of teachers’ professional standards. It supports the development of knowledge, skills and the values at the heart of the curriculum’s four capacities and provides a mechanism for promoting and working towards the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Dumfries and Galloway’s Learning for Sustainability Conference builds on the success of their STEM Conference and as part of this they’ve created a new bank of resources. These materials will be available throughout next session to support all practitioners working to meet the aspirations of the Scottish Government’s Learning for Sustainability Action plan.

A Microsoft Team in GLOW entitled Dumfries & Galloway LfS Conference 2021 has been created to host the online conference materials, which are easily accessible within a OneNote Staff Notebook. Practitioners can access the Team using the following code: r50jj42 (remember you will need your GLOW login details).
