A new maths project team is being pulled together to help improve outcomes for P7 learners. Would you like to be part of it?

Taking part will provide an opportunity to learn more about fraction measurement schemes, better understand maths anxiety and how to implement a tried and tested model of intervention, and gain access to high quality assessment resources as well as be part of a friendly, supportive professional learning community. You’ll have a chance to co-create new resources and be supported to engage flexibly with a range of professional learning opportunities.

Andy Thompson, our numeracy and maths workstream lead commented: “Success in more advanced mathematics and numeracy requires a deep understanding of fractions and yet fractions are scary for many children and adults: maths anxiety can easily rear its all too familar head!

“The end of P7 is a critical point of transition and we want our learners to be confident at applying their skills in fractions across a range of contexts and experiences.

“So, what are the barriers to this and how can we work together to help overcome them? Sign up and be part of a collaborative effort to improve outcomes for P7 learners…you’ll be glad you did!”
